@Judeau @maxalmonte14 sadly I totally agree - even if assembly lines will ramp up and produce more RAM and SSDs - AI companies will just buy more for more data centers. In space, under water, down your street - every freaking where. I’m 100% sure it’s the end of personal computing era as we knew it.

    @Judeau @maxalmonte14 Next we’ll have some kind of a wearable to ask AI for anything we ever need and it will decide what level and quality of an answer are we allowed to receive. Just check what Jony Ive is working with OpenAI…

    @in_sympathy @maxalmonte14 I'm not sure that I would quite go that far but I do feel like decent mid-spec PCs could be pushed up to a price point that the general population would not be able to afford. Similar to how PC stuff was back in the '80s. Very few people had high end machines because it was prohibitively expensive. I'm trying to figure out exactly what PC/ electronic stuff I might potentially need for the next four years. I'm thinking of it as an investment rather than a splurge.
