@Stephanie@thetransagenda.gay @TicklishHoneyBee@twoot.site No you're on the right track, asking if you've "left the Earth's SoI" is a much better question because it has a reasonably clear definition, i.e. the volume of space in which a body (Earth, Luna, Sol etc.) will dominate the change in trajectory of a small object there's some good numbers on the wiki page for SoI in Astrodynamics, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphere_of_influence_(astrodynamics) And yes, the entirety of Luna's SoI is within Earth's SoI I think what might have happened here is a misreading of the Artemis astronauts being the first to "leave LOW earth orbit" for the first time since the 1970s, which just means going above 2000km from the earths surface
