@breadinside@lgbtqia.space I am nonbinary and not currently trying to present femme in public so my situation is a bit different from yours but the thing that got me to present queer in public was that my wife just kept buying rainbow merch for me - stickers, pins, clothes, accessories, etc. and that allowed me to gradually keep leaning in to it. So - maybe just start with a rainbow flag pin? It's kinda gauche and wearing a rainbow flag pin doesn't really signal anything strong but maybe that's a good thing to start with.

@runningoff@lgbtqia.space Thanks so much for your response ❤️ I do like the idea of having something small that can be a signal of comfort like a pin. I am going to have to brainstorm what might be a good fit for me where I am right now. I think some of my apprehension is that I haven't discussed this much with my partner. (Who would 100% be in my corner, but who I am concerned might not tell others while I'm still getting my grip on how I want to explore and present.) When I've brought up traditionally non-masculine activities, she tends to blow them off unless they are things she wants to do already. (This is a me problem: she can't read my mind, but it makes me feel uncomfortable.) (Sorry to add all of this extra weight to the response! It is a bit more of the subtext about how and why I'm feeling unsure right now.)
