I personally do not focus much of my attention on brand-building, and in fact have been on a health hiatus for a while now. So for this next part, understand I’m not talking about me.
But isn’t this worse for most creators, actually? Now you’ve created a competitive marketplace. All the crabs have got to crawl over each other now, in the hopes of keeping the attention of their own patrons. This is… why most of them left, say, Facebook?
I definitely understand why it’s good for *Patreon*.

The comments on the announcement(s) are already leaning into it. Most of them are what I can only describe as LinkedIn Grindset markov chains. A modern day mutation of “first!”, transparently attempting to siphon traffic from a high-traffic post. Meanwhile, my home feed is absolutely drowned in their new “quips” feature, which, let’s be clear, is just their branded name for short-form TikTok style videos.

@Haste I don't really understand why it's good for patreon, could you give me a clue?
