@eb@social.coop It's always so baffling to me that people made computers do extremely complicated math and logic to give wrong results in simple arithmetic. And they sell that as a product that's supposed to be a great technological leap forward

@eb@social.coop On the plus side, we have a new way to say "bad at math" that isn't misogynist: "vibe math." My go-to has been "bargain math," which I like a lot, but I think "vibe math" is much more likely to go viral.

@eb@social.coop It's funny as a meme, but this is why AI is getting "tools" lately: it will not do math itself, but rather call a calculator tool and use it. Or a Python interpreter. And it's happening already since the past year.
