@zed @sammy like, what's the point of having to carry around a bunch of change, and then have people going from loo to loo to collect that change?? it's basically a make-work program for coin handlers at that point

@zed @sammy Would you have an alternative in mind As far as I can see, if a toilet costs money, no matter how little and insignificant amount that is to you, that amount of money has been significant to someone else. So the alternatives really are free toilets, or a city that smells like piss. A progressive pee-card system where people pay what they can, would create further structures for exploitation for individuals as well as businesses.

@zed @sammy yes. The only way to make things accessible to people with no money is to not charge money for them

@zed yes? what the fuck is that question. if people have to pay for the toilet to use it then it's not an accessible public toilet.

@zed @sammy yes that is indeed the only way to make sure there is access. you can’t means test in a way that charges everyone who can afford 50ct and not charge anyone who can’t afford 50ct that isn’t even to mention that a growing amount of people could afford 50ct but don’t have 50ct of cash on them. and it would be unreasonable to expect them to get 50ct coins at that point because the closest atm outputs only 5€ bills or larger with comparatively big fees. and 50ct is so little that card payments would just basically eat the payment

@zed @sammy …yes? the only good option, at least, im sure one could come up with something weird and evil instead this whole shittability thing is basically the same question as of whether public transit should be free. yes, yes it should be; basic mobility is something every person should be entitled to, unconditionally of how many capitalism points they have on hand, if any. same thing for being able to shit, which might i remind you is a pretty simple biological need and if paywalling that isnt dystopian to you idk what would be
