  Not sure who else needs this, but since #Anthropic changes the download URL for each #Claude update, and that URL is no longer public once a new version is out (but it still works for downloading that version), I added a cron job on my NAS to keep a record of all Claude .pkg download URLs, and it checks for a new version every 30min (they be releasing hella updates).   My Canyon Grizl 7 was stolen Sept. 2025. Starting Feb. 2025, pain from a herniated disc started flaring up/down, since Oct. 2025 it’s been mostly up. This week I had surgery, and while I have pain it is not from a herniated disc but just the regular post-surgery recovery. So, since my Canyon being stolen I’ve only ridden my commuter bike (Strava says 400km this year). I’m going to re-buy a Canyon. Should I buy it now or wait till I’m actually ready to start riding again ? #bike #biketooter

  For those of you that moved from somewhere else to #Europe, how long did it take for the European power outlet to appear in your dream ? For me, it was last night. Just a little over 1.5yrs. It was also the first time I’ve dreamt in French (I assume the two things were connected). The dream : (next toot)

  It’s incredibly annoying when extremists get mad at someone or some organization when they do the right thing because they didn’t do it earlier. There is a time and place for pushback, but if you want even more people to start making the morally right decision, depraving those, who just now changed, of the positive feedback loop right after they make one good decision is NOT the way to convince them or others to follow suit to continue or to start making decisions that agree with you.

  Most of the time when walking around a city, I have headphones in and am listening to music. But the distinct lack of car sounds in #amsterdam makes it pleasant to walk around without headphones and it’s really nice.

  @overcastfm not sure how to handle this, but I used the transcript to skip a dynamically inserted ad and now the highlighted text doesn’t match what is being said. The text at the bottom of this screenshot is what’s being spoken, but the app thinks the text at the top of the screenshot is what’s being spoken.

  Hey @overcastfm , I absolutely love the new transcription feature. It unlocks French podcasts in more categories (I’m an American living in France, currently B2 in French). Until now I’ve mainly listened to French news podcasts, but the ability to see the words at the same time (when I need them) lets me try to listen to pop culture ones too.

  Être pouvoir de parler une deuxième langue, ça c’est comme un superpower. Évidemment mon français n’est pas parfait.   It’s interesting to see my development (as long with the change in the phones #Apple has released) over the years. I used to be an update every year on day 1 kind of person, obsessed with getting whatever was new (even when it was hard for me to afford a new phone). The last phone I bought directly from Apple was an #iPhone 12 Mini in 2021 (after years of using the SE 1). After breaking it, I started using an iPhone SE 3 (old work phone), and 2 months ago bought a secondhand iPhone 13 Mini.

  Je viens de réaliser que « di » dans les noms des jours avait probablement le sens de « jour. » Pareil comme en anglais, mais c’est plus évident là. Lun-di Mar-di Mercre-di Jeu-di Vendre-di Same-di Di-manche C’est toujours là dans les noms.

  After another assassination attempt on Trump, you’ll hear alot of people say that “violence is never the answer.” Unless you’re a Quaker (or some other actually pacifist religious group), anyone saying that is being dishonest to themselves. And if you do actually think violence can be acceptable, you need to actually figure out where the line is. Going based of vibes is not enough.   C’est stupide que Slack donne des notifications même pour les personnes qui tu as bloqué. Il y a des personnes dans le MacAdmins Slack (le workspace dans mon screenshot) qui je trouve hyper innervant. Si c’était le workspace pour mon travail je pourrais juste parler avec le RH, mais quand c’est un workspace étant utilisé comme réseau social, il faut vraiment avoir un vrai bouton pour bloquer. #slack
