@kai Ok this is weird … I played a couple times on my 2023 MacBook Pro’s Retina Display and got scores similar to yours (e.g. 0.0027 https://www.keithcirkel.co.uk/whats-my-jnd/?r=AQ0hKP__-fvh). But then moved to my 30-inch Cinema Display that was manufactured in 2007 – complete with ghost images of my desktop icons burned in to the pixels – and completely crushed it with a 0.00032 (https://www.keithcirkel.co.uk/whats-my-jnd/?r=ACAlKP__9X__).
Maybe my brainwaves have just synchronized with the vibrations of this display over all these years of use.
Anyway, now I have zero interest in ever playing this game again. It made me feel like I was absolutely losing my mind.
(I’m lying. I will probably be playing it again tomorrow.)

@nicksherman @kai Makes me wonder if the 2007 monitor is introducing artifacts (banding) that make it easier to distinguish colors that are very slightly different, even though it is supposed to be able to display millions of colors. Quantization, in other words.
