Took my corvette in for its annual oil change and the service department entrance had this new booth you had to drive through to enter. Full of lights and cameras.
I asked what does it do and the service writer showed me his screen.
- entire panoramic view of all body panels
- lit up full undercarriage photo to look for damage or leaks
- tire tread depth
- date codes on tires
- he said it can tell alignment issues as well
It was pretty cool.

@jonschwenn Yes many car dealerships have the check alignment as you drive in sensors, however they work. They are going to check it anyway it’s a service charge, might as well have some automated trouble shooting.

@jonschwenn this way they can also document existing damages, so they don't get claims from customers on these.
