  I’m looking at some site of historic photos of places that are gone, written in html 3.0 it appears (can’t see source in this smart phone. It is a horrible layout and ui for viewing the photos on a smartphone. I’d like to, with minimal effort, view the images as a slide show with captions. There is probably some controversial modern method that would rewrite the site in the new format on the fly.

It should have been seeded as a developer’s kit. I like it. It will only get better. But we know what i$ holding it back.

  I was today years old when I realized the Beatles ‘Butcher Cover’ for Yesterday and Today was more than the Beatles taking the piss by being dada and bad taste to thumb their nose at ridiculous levels of fame, or, perhaps, a commentary on war, killing the babies. The part I today realized on my own was it referenced the repackage of their albums for the U.S. They were already taking their albums as a gestalt statement, and Capitol was butchering them. Wiki confirms-common take. I missed it.

  Anyone with any insight able to answer this question? Why is Netflix going into streaming games? Whose milkshake are they drinking exactly? Are they feeding ads into the games? I get that if they actually do get someone to play a game, that is customer engagement they are capturing that competitors are not. Especially depending on the stickiness of the game. The right game will engage for hours longer than a film or series episode Is it a good play for Netflix? A new lock in? Who wants this?

  Can anyone recommended an #iOS #WatchOS sleep tracking app that works outside of the designated window of #Sleep focus iOS defines? My work schedule often intrudes into that 8 hour window, and I nap outside of that frequently. Or start or end sleep out of sync with its attention. And sometimes, my Apple Watch is on the charger when I fall asleep. That sleep does not get tracked (‘Bad Sleep hygiene!’, the App admonishes!) But I’m always in bed, the same room.

  I say yee-roh. But when the Mediterranean guy handing me a pita and shaving the shawarma kebab or whatever says Hard G Gee-roh, I wonder if there is some regional variation. By the way, I have never calmed it J sound soft G Jee-roh, although I hear that back too. And I have never calked it Jy-ro, as in Gyroscope or gyrocopter.

  On dead bird site, I followed a comic artist I stumbled upon. Eisner award winner. He posted videos of his drawing work in progress. I thought he was great I went to a comic store to buy some of his books.. Not only were none of his books in stock (major publisher) the proprietor couldn’t even find him in his online database, even if I mentioned the titles. The owner running the store is a fool who refers to books as ‘keys’. Haven’t been back.

  @flargh@mastodon.social I’d eat it. But I think trail mixes sometimes try to avoid meltables like the exteriors of goobers or raisinets. Or go whole hog naturalist Euell Gibbons on the mix. But an overheated hiker may not want to reach into a bag of goo. Trail mix should survive the interior of a parked car in the summer sun. Planters nuts has tried to market some trail mixes lately, and I can say- not impressed. Buy the mixed nuts, use your own add-ins. Get dangerous depending on weather.

They need to remember this, as it will connect deeper and more emotionally if and when they do. It doesn’t need to be crowded.

  Maybe the whole idea around autocorrect and predictive text was a lesson in Tough Love, to learn to edit our own damn posts before hitting send. Even if they have to introduce more errors than you actually made.
