@flargh@mastodon.social I’d eat it.
But I think trail mixes sometimes try to avoid meltables like the exteriors of goobers or raisinets. Or go whole hog naturalist Euell Gibbons on the mix. But an overheated hiker may not want to reach into a bag of goo.
Trail mix should survive the interior of a parked car in the summer sun.
Planters nuts has tried to market some trail mixes lately, and I can say- not impressed.
Buy the mixed nuts, use your own add-ins. Get dangerous depending on weather.

@Chancerubbage@mastodon.social "Classic" trail mix inevitably includes M&Ms or their analogs. Meanwhile, I grew up on GORP - good ol' raisins and peanuts. #GenX
