@DrOinFL One thing Star Trek mastered is creative ret-conning, and even building from that, and this is a core example. Human actors with budget-TV makeup portrayed Klingons in the original series. Better makeup was available for the first film, which then forced ST to explain why new Klingons looked different. The explanation is that Klingons were trying to develop people who could successfully infiltrate human populations, undetected. Darvin was the culmination of that failed project.

@DrOinFL Paul Ryan can only DREAM of being 0.1% as cool as a Klingon. One of the more shameful graduates of my alma mater, BTW.
