@jeremyburge I may be wrong (like you say, it’s been years since I’ve tried) but IMO it doesn’t really matter because you can get a Hop card in Apple Wallet at any time, no app required.

@nedley yep fair enough, for locals I agree the card is just as good. As a tourist, just about as good, though that small extra step to first add a card and choose how much $ to put on it is a mild friction over straight Apple Pay (ideally with Express Mode) I'll leave it Portland as ‘no' unless anyone confirms otherwise, as I can't find a source saying Express Mode is supported for contactless Apple Pay.
