I really like the shows from the beginning of the color television era when the set and costume designers really wanted to make you feel like you were getting your money's worth

You'd have e.g. an actress in the REDDEST dress imaginable, the color is nearly pulsating, and on top of that she's holding the BLACKEST small animal imaginable, an true and utter void, impossible even to tell whether it's a dog or cat.
