You know those bits of cable that look like gear cables but you can screw the ends together? They usually get sold as keychains, or for attaching those little tritium vials to things.
I'm trying to find an uncoated 300mm long one for hanging my chain up during waxing, but the Bay of E keeps sneaking PVC coatings in there, and I don't want to be dipping PVC into hot wax (no judgement if that's your thing). Anyone know a reliable supplier? Or have any other suggestions? #BikeTooter

@ravenbait@mastodon.scot As long as you don't need ends to be hugely load bearing - I use old brake / gear cable and crimp on a male and female electrical connector. For waxing a chain I use a jumbo paper clip straightened out with a closed loop at one end and a hook at other. I feed every twelfth (? Never counted) link over hook and end up with a square of back and forth chain. I then just hang with twine tied round both loop and hook
