It’s #STFUfriday!
When cops ask you questions, ask for a lawyer and then STFU:
- I am not discussing how I’m doing or where I’m going.
- Am I free to leave?
- I am not answering any questions.
- If they ask to search anything: "I do not consent to a search."
- I want to talk to a lawyer.
MA legislative briefing May 6 on joint venture, the idea that you're guilty of murder if you're present when someone else pulls the trigger. See link.

I'll be speaking at this briefing on behalf of one of my clients. Joint venture is wrong for so many reasons. We should punish people for what they do and what they intend. Not what other people do and intend. Using joint venture to convict people is the opposite of personal responsibility. It's always about the racism. Predictably, juries are more likely to judge white defendants individually and more willing to find shared intent when the defendants are BIPOC. /2 https://digitalcommons.du.edu/dlr/vol101/iss1/4/
