A great neighbor family just left the US and returned to Europe, explicitly because of what our country has become. Educated, successful, community-oriented people. I understand their decision. I'm sad and angry.

Not that anyone asked me, but I am solidly supporting Tram Nguyen in the race to replace Seth Moulton for US Congress (MA 6th District). She is smart, reliably progressive, and has a track record you can check for yourself. She was a law school classmate of my law partner and went on to be a civil legal aid attorney for crime victims. You have a great explanation. You're obviously innocent. Just a big misunderstanding. If you're being questioned and you're not free to leave, something bad is already happening....

TL;DR Flock is rolling out both a Shotspotter-like feature (inherently flawed) and a function purporting to detect human voices &quot;in distress&quot; using AI. This is not going to work. And it&#39;s going to get people killed by police aggressively responding to non-emergency situations mistaken for emergencies. If your municipality has a Flock contract, tell them to cancel it.

States/municipalities should start passing laws that anyone who works for ICE after X date is ineligible for state employment in the future. With maybe a whistleblower exemption. Lots of these people are wannabe cops.

Massachusetts folk: contact your state senators and ask them to oppose this bill when they take it up. The bill kills Mass Save which has helped tons of people including me make their homes and apartments more efficient and sustainable. It also allows utilities to continue to charge ratepayers for the cost of utilities’ lobbying, which is normally against renewable energy. And the bill’s lead sponsor Rep.
