I'm curious, which of the non-deterministic methods that designers are currently using surprised you to learn about? I remember you hinting at something before but nothing in particular like this jumped out at me when I just read the article. Or is it something proprietary that can't be shared?
Tal's and Lars' kern suggester seems interesting, but is it non-deterministic?

@cjtype I am surprised how popular coding agents are for python scripting in font editors! How staunchly we defend drawing as something uniquely reserved for human designers, but writing the code (just as important for some of the most exciting and forward looking type design projects imo) is so easily put on a lesser level, undeserving of our attention, delegated; here, somehow our ethical concerns seem less pressing.
