Is there anything more idiotic than "necro-bumping" rules in forums?
There's a forum thread to a still relevant topic, maybe even on the first page of search engine results, but when you add current information that's "necrobumping" and the thread is closed..

It's right up there with bots auto-closing issues if there has been no new post in X weeks/months

@Doomed_Daniel@mastodon.gamedev.place I'll never understand why the widely-accepted solution ended up being moderator screeching instead of a nice little "2 years, 3 months later" indicator between the posts that the forum software automatically adds after a threshold.
