@Doomed_Daniel@mastodon.gamedev.place I'll never understand why the widely-accepted solution ended up being moderator screeching instead of a nice little "2 years, 3 months later" indicator between the posts that the forum software automatically adds after a threshold.

@landelare@mastodon.gamedev.place yeah.. I have lots of nostalgia for small-ish communities around forums, which was common about 20 years ago - but nonsensical rules enforced by moderators who seem to enjoy their power is something I could do without (usually forums that disallow "necroposting" also have rules of "use the forum search before you post" 🤡)
