@oggydyer hrrrm okay all I can think of immediately are sideways recommendations. I love Isekai, too, but I agree on the everything is too easy to solve. A Memory Called Empire is twisty politics with one character working for the empire and the other trying to save her civilization from the empire. Less overt sense of humor than DCC, but varying from sharp to dorky. The other is Delicious in Dungeon, which will only work if you enjoy people eating weird things and being pleasantly surprised.
