@Florapis there are bee rebellions?! That’s incredible. But how are they laying eggs? Who’s…the daddy?
Are there ever like deadbeat bees who just don’t contribute? Do they get headbutted into submission?

@minmi all female honeybees can lay eggs, even the workers, but if there is no sperm the resultant bees are all drones, male bees. The queen chooses to lay unfertalised eggs in bigger drone cells but workers, and queens who are out of sperm, lay them anywhere. Interestingly drone laying workers become republicans and often won't except a new queen. I suspect some bees do bunk off but it would be hard to prove. You find them lurking in the roof or in empty hives
