@Paul@hades.town In fever dreams I've imagined that highly local instances could do "age/ID verification" entirely by meeting up in real life without any need for retaining digital copies of ID or using 3rd party online services.

@Paul@hades.town would be very interested. Given previous experience I would potentially switch if I was sure (a) the admins are committed long term and (b) there was a good financial foundation. Would definitely contribute to (b) but my total lack of technical knowledge means I'm reliant on others for (a)!

@Paul@hades.town Not trying to be a debbie downer but if you are wanting to run a coop server I strongly suggest you make it clear how much it will cost to join up front - otherwise you will get a heap of freeloaders that you will do a heap of work for before they disappear when your bills come due.
