Just finished reading this fever dream of a fairy tale. 100% recommend. Beautifully plotted and lushly & lyrically written, although some elements aren't entirely modern in sensibility ( witches = evil, magicians = good, and the story needed a Hero to resolve it). Main character was believable in spite of being a unicorn. Loved it. PS Any idea how I get it back to its library in Kinshasa? #bookstodon #books #amreading #fantasy #library

@Alternatecelt@mastodon.scot But it has the harpy Celeano in it. Real harpies are rare in fantasy. When the harpy gets loose, the unicorn advises, "Never run from anything immortal." I try to keep that in mind.

@Alternatecelt@mastodon.scot If you liked book you should check Last Unicorn animated movie. It has great cast (Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges and Christopher Lee).
