Hi there rich people of Sydney's wealthy Eastern Suburbs and Lower North Shore.
As your fashionable selves are no doubt aware, recently some white hipsters from a trendsetting publication discovered Burwood and deemed it worthy of hipster gentrification. I mean, decided it's the "coolest neighbourhood in Australia".
Now, we know in your mental maps that Sydney ends somewhere around Newtown. And that one time you did go out Olympic Park or the Enmore Theatre, you felt uncomfortable. And you've never been further out west than that.
You're not a racist, but a friend of a friend once caught the wrong train to Hornsby and told you it's all poor people in a foreign land out there. I mean, the wrong sort of people. I mean...
Well anyway, the Museum of Contemporary Art has arranged a special bus tour for you.
To Burwood.
As a warm up, we've bought a selection of the Asian drummers and those video games, which people out that way seem to like, to the MCA.
If you're not comfortable going any further, you can leave it there.
That way, you can get a taste of Burwood at its Chinatown district from the comfortable surroundings of the MCA.
But if you're really feeling adventurous, you can board a special double decker bus for a special tasting tour we've arranged.
This study tour will be a one-of-a-kind cultural experience for you!
And for those snickering folks who don't live in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney or the Lower North Shore, yes this is actually a thing.
See below:
"Celebrate Burwood – recently named Time Out’s #1 Coolest Neighbourhood in Australia, and one of the country’s most culturally diverse communities.
"The night begins at the MCA, where Live at the MCA brings the energy, sound and stories of Burwood to Tallawoladah. Expect roving drumming performances and a vibrant line-up of Chinese, Korean and Japanese musicians bringing together musical traditions and contemporary expression. Experience Burwood’s thriving gaming culture through a curated selection of interactive games.
"At 6.30pm, Next Stop Burwood full-experience ticket holders will board a vintage double-decker bus for a one-of-a-kind cultural journey through Burwood."

@aj Tour Burwood and see how unfortunate West Australians live. Marvel at the poverty. Be shocked by the utter lack of amenities. Laugh as they they scuttle across the road while your bus driver tries to knock them off their bikes.

@aj Lived in Petersham from 2002-2014, watched it go from cheap, a bit dilapidated, to "the tittybar closed and became a family-friendly hipster place where deep fried chicken and craft beer are the menu". The gentrifiers will destroy everything.

@aj I worked in St Leonards once and had a colleague who refused to cross the harbour bridge unless strictly necessary.
