I do not for a moment believe that the recent assassination attempt on Trump was staged. That doesn't mean I cannot take pleasure in watching him be bitten by the conspiracy theorists that he courted during his rise to power. Lie with dogs, get fleas, lie with nutters or to nutters, get nutted.

@Rycochet@furs.social my take is “you’ve heard of stochastic terrorism, meet stochastic false flags!” By simply relaxing security, our more likely just stripping out anyone competent from the decision making process and replacing them with lackies, an incident like this is a statistical certainty. Is it intentional? Probably subconscious at best. Is it a natural, self reinforcing dynamic of kakistocracy as a system? You betcha! Just always be prepared to take advantage of a disaster.
