solidarity is not naive. you do it despite the violence of the oppressor. it is devastating and heartbreaking to have all of your work crushed in an instant, but we still must carry on doing it. :pandaheart:

@burnitdown what felt naive was the shock I experienced after receiving the news. I’m not sure why I hadn’t considered this ending. I think your phrasing of helping people “survive the genocide” brought that up for me. That’s not at all what donations achieve. It’s the harsh truth. Again, I’m not arguing against support and solidarity. It’s just a very painful reality and it’s been made unbearably apparent to me with this recent event. I’m just so sad.
