@joelvanderwerf @Irenetherogue bandcamp are in their try and get people locked into the eco system stage with incentives like giving artists actual returns on their art. But 5 years once everyone is used to it ceos and marketing will start enshittifying. My take has been during artist fridays i buy music. Once they start clamping down, I'll delete my account. They serve me i dont serve them.

    @Gh0stlyM0use @joelvanderwerf @Irenetherogue As an artist on Bandcamp, I actually fully appreciate and understand this position. To be honest, if they did go "full enshittification", I'd probably move my music elsewhere (though I'm not sure where!). They don't own it and it's my right to remove it. It's worth pointing out, though, that I'm lucky enough to have other income: I don't make my living from music so I have the luxury of choice.
