I'd like to propose a new abbreviated reply: "AI;DR"

I was just listening to this song and paid close attention to the lyric. Very much a song for our time! https://www.rush.com/songs/the-weapon/

I just heard about this effect, and I'm confused as hell. I'd love to know how I would come out on the experiment, because as far as I can tell, I don't have ANY spatial organisation of numbers in my head. Is this because I have #aphantasia ? If I'm thinking of times then I definitely do feel them being in a circle like a clock, but numbers in general? No geometry at all — unless it's actually important, e.g. if I'm thinking about XY co-ordinates....

Just tried to submit a repeat prescription request. This used to be a simple web form that would always work 24 hours a day and someone would pick it up from an inbox. NOW I get a message that says: Outside of service hours We're not currently accepting online administrative queries as it's outside our service hours for these. The next opportunity to use the service is listed below. BONKERS. This process does NOT need a human present! #EnshittificationUK #Enshittification

This remains one of the best TV clips I've ever witnessed. Stanley Unwin meets Bill & Ben https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVpJzGeM2p4

It's really weird that some people seem to have forgotten the phrase "the twentieth century". I've witnessed multiple people on YouTube claiming the 1980s is "the nineteen hundreds". Weird.

The main problem with dystopian science fiction is this: the normal people say "well that looks cool, but we don't want it to happen!", while the psychos say "oh, so THAT'S how it's done. Thanks."

A discourteous driver named Bignal Turned left without giving a signal. I thought it a crime, So—bereft of a rhyme— I decided this was no longer a Limerick and went after the git, ramming him off the road, pulling him out of his car and giving him a damned good thrashing.

Yesterday I saw an oystercatcher foraging on someone's lawn, about 5-10 miles from the nearest coastal water. Is this unusual?

Dear YouTube reactors, Please make sure the "face follow" mode on your camera is turned off before dancing in your chairs. You're making me seasick!

I know we need to defeat Fascism, but when we've finished, could I just point out that there are people walking around at liberty out there who think it's OK to pitch-correct Freddie Mercury's voice? They should be next.

Hey spammers... if you send me literally DOZENS of similar emails every day, don't you think it's just possible that I'll ignore them all? Have you no nuance, you oxygen sinks?

Why is it so difficult to buy a washing up brush of modest size? Tesco only seems to have one, and it looks like it was designed for cleaning elephants.

I finally worked out that turning my socks inside out makes my toes far more comfortable because there's no seam to annoy them. It's taken me decades to reach this epiphany. Why didn't anyone TELL me?

Apologies for the handful of ranty/political posts today. Not my usual style: I'm a bit short on sleep and therefore irritable. Normal service will soon be resumed.

I just had an evil idea. I'd like to start a Tiktok channel where all the videos are actually landscape format and you have to turn your phone 90 degrees to view them.

This morning I looked up and wondered whether some huge entity had been writing "TO" in the clouds. Probably a coincidence. But I swear to you this is not photoshopped. #Pareidolia #Apophenia #Clouds
