@Gh0stlyM0use @joelvanderwerf @Irenetherogue As an artist on Bandcamp, I actually fully appreciate and understand this position. To be honest, if they did go "full enshittification", I'd probably move my music elsewhere (though I'm not sure where!). They don't own it and it's my right to remove it. It's worth pointing out, though, that I'm lucky enough to have other income: I don't make my living from music so I have the luxury of choice.

  • @macronencer @joelvanderwerf @Irenetherogue The difficulty to move on is how they get you. As you say, where do you go when everywhere is terrible? The solutions are there, such as donating directly to the artist. I think we may have a return of physical media where artists burn their own disks and sell them as a form of protest art. When i create something, i just give it away if someone likes it, so the commercial side i am ignorant to. Im all about the process, not the outcome.
