This whole Blender situation reminds me of what happened months ago with the Python Foundation, only with the opposite result because y'know, the Python Foundation actually refused that money. I'm not gonna stop using Blender because of this, because I actually have good faith in the Blender dev team, but I certainly won't feel good seeing Anthropic there at all, and I would rather prefer they didn't take that filthy money.

@NullTheFool@mastodon.gamedev.place I was just thinking about that, but then it occurred to me that while, the PSF refused the money that would required them to “reject” DEI, they have absolutely no problem with slopware. CPython is tainted and their AI policy is arguably exceedingly tolerant. https://devguide.python.org/getting-started/generative-ai/ Now, I'm not sure if this alone is better or worse than accepting money from Anthropic but not AI commits. OTOH, Blender seems to be going for a tolerant AI policy too: https://devtalk.blender.org/t/ai-contributions-policy/44202/55 8-(

@NullTheFool@mastodon.gamedev.place I'll be using 4.5. until it breaks, and hopefully there will be something else that I can use by then.
