I agree with this analysis. Looks like some extra drainage is being added under the road surface too next to the worst piece of wall collapse.
I wonder if it is taking 6 weeks so they can see if it is making a difference, although as we have had almost no rain for 6 weeks, it will be hard to tell.

Here's a letter someone posted to CycleSheffield on Facebook The reference to heavy machinery makes me think it wouldn't be surprising if it gets closed to pedestrians & cycles at some point, especially because the pavement is on the side where the wall is.
