@robpumphrey@mastodonapp.uk @JdeBP@mastodonapp.uk I think it's 6 weeks just because of the amount of work they're doing. Here's a letter someone posted to CycleSheffield on Facebook The reference to heavy machinery makes me think it wouldn't be surprising if it gets closed to pedestrians & cycles at some point, especially because the pavement is on the side where the wall is.

    @trantion@masto.ai @robpumphrey@mastodonapp.uk That matches what I read in The Star. https://thestar.co.uk/news/traffic-and-travel/road-closure-and-24-mile-diversion-begins-on-a57-manchester-road-sheffield-on-way-to-snake-pass-6906828 https://thestar.co.uk/news/traffic-and-travel/council-will-do-utmost-to-keep-snake-pass-safe-for-tour-de-france-but-fix-unlikely-8135219 #Sheffield #Derbyshire #TourDeFrance #A57

    @trantion@masto.ai @JdeBP@mastodonapp.uk The footpath is currently diverted onto the eastbound carriageway around the actual works, so perhaps that will remain open. You cannot get close to the part of the broken wall, it is all fenced off. I wonder what the diversion maps says. I noticed at the end of Rod Side their is a notice saying "residents access only", so I think they are discouraging people from driving up from Ladybower and going into the city via Stannington.
