@trantion@masto.ai @JdeBP@mastodonapp.uk The footpath is currently diverted onto the eastbound carriageway around the actual works, so perhaps that will remain open. You cannot get close to the part of the broken wall, it is all fenced off. I wonder what the diversion maps says. I noticed at the end of Rod Side their is a notice saying "residents access only", so I think they are discouraging people from driving up from Ladybower and going into the city via Stannington.

@robpumphrey@mastodonapp.uk @JdeBP@mastodonapp.uk Apparently the official diversion for cars is via Ringinglow Road (AKA National Cycle Network route 6), then squeeze down The Dale into Hathersage. I have questions... Sure, driving along Ringinglow Road is usually faster than the A625, but can it handle all that extra traffic? Why not divert cars along Eccy Road? Why not send them down the straighter and wider Ringinglow Road and set up traffic lights to help with the awkward acute junction just above the Millstone Inn?
