@mwichary I'm not sure I'm following what your concern is here? The article is a fairly high level introduction how grade can be used to change perceived text weight in light/dark mode.
I'm not seeing any claims regarding accessibility, it brings up layout shifts as an example to explain what grade does...

@tobestobs prefers-contrast is all about accessibility, as far as I understand. The issues of dark mode readability are more complex than just ”fonts need to be thinner.” And the switch from contrast to layout shifts – it just feels narratively a bit abrupt. Also, thanks for the snitch tag. 🫡
