Preaching to the choir, I know, but I wanted to share this post that's been making the rounds.
Someone claims to have bought a subreddit from its mods; whether or not it's true, he's absolutely right that this happens and is dangerous. People don't realize just how much modern social media is being manipulated.
I don't usually make off-topic posts like this, but I felt it was warranted considering how bad things are getting. (1/3)

It's not something you'll notice at a surface level - but it's something you'll feel. A subreddit suspiciously posting too many memes about a TV show. Comments from random accounts supporting or trashing some movement. Social media algorithms promoting one side of the argument and silently censoring others. It's happening, and it's dangerous. I have my issues with the Fediverse (including some elitism here and there), but I'm so glad it exists and I love being here. (2/3)
