Honestly, the recent LLM bubble has made it alarmingly clear how shallow some people think others are...
Like, it's a eugenicist project, so, that isn't really surprising.
What is more distressing, though, is how many people are perfectly happy to accept the shallow simulacrum of "intelligence" as a high bar.
A mouse is orders of magnitude more complicated, has more depth, more understanding of the world, than even the most advanced technologies humanity has built for itself.

@miss_rodent crows and pigeons are capable of superstitions which means they can actually attach meanings to things they witness neighbourhood squirrel was able to figure out quickly that the birdfeeder seeds were in reach by hanging upside down from one spot on a branch which shows several things whales have been blowing specific shapes with bubbles only around humans and have been theorised to be attempting to communicate with us etc
