Querying is a gamble of return on investment of your time and energy. You can query hundreds of agents, with multiple books, and end up with no published book to show for your efforts.
Self publishing doesn't gamble roi in that a book WILL be published, not coz its anticipated to make a publisher $, but coz the author believes the story is worth telling, even to its target audience of 10 people (🤞 its more than 10!)

@ElisesWritings@wandering.shop self-publishing also lets you give away things you care about FOR FREE, something that just wouldn't be viable if it had to involve a publisher and a printer.
