  Today is our 7th house-I-versary in this abode. It felt like home the moment Spouseman & I first walked into it, but it also seems like we only just got here & have lots more to do. F’ex, this year is the first time we’ve hosted Monarchs, clouded sulfurs, tiger, black, Thoas AND pipevine swallowtails in our garden. (the full and rue are looking pretty ragged, but it’s in a good cause) I love this place.

  If you like your science fiction mixed with thrilling mysteries, a little sweet romance, and plenty of character development, this series in a book is sure to please.   It’s fun being able to peek at other library holdings & see if/where my books pop up. Just one of the many cool things I can with my library card. Now, I don’t know *why* I have a fan in a state I have never lived in & visited only twice in my life, but I’m delighted they requested their library carry my paperbacks. And all my books appear to be listing in Ebsco’s Gobi Library system too, which serves academic libraries, iirc, so that’s intriguing. Procrastinating? Me? Maybe… #WritersL...

  I've been itching to take the one book I still have in Kindle Unlimited out to sell on my own site for some time, but I never bothered bc no one ever read it anyway. Today I got one step closer by creating a shiny retro-style cover to replace the awful one it has now. I made it all by myself, and it probably shows, but I kinda love it.   So I’m staying up too late again, this time watching a low-budget movie about monster tornadoes (evidently written by people unfamiliar with tornadoes, stormchasing, AI…and a lot of other things actually) The Perky Reporter character just asked the Rogue Scientist character a qustion that’s been on my mind for half an hour now: “Exactly how were you expecting to save lives with tornadoes?” This whole thing is just earnestly, deliciously watchably wrong.

  It's time for a Murderbot series reread.   I have finshed the utter diaster of a dumpster fire TV series that was La Brea. Wow. Just...wow. I am gobsmacked the show ever got renewed even once. It was not merely bad, it was Bad Movie bad. I'm not sure even another Asylum Productions 3 movie bingewatch can surpass La Brea's sheer volume of plot WTFery, absurd character development, AND wildly contradictory time travel elements. Did I enjoy it? Oh, hells, yes. Was it *good*? Hell no.

  Today's "dealing with sick cat" observation: it's a PITA to pill a 20 lb cat--antibiotics taste noxious. But it turns out it's even more of a PITA to dose a cat with a liquid antibiotic so "irritating" it dissolves the numbers off the oral syringes. So we're back to pills.   #WritersCoffeeClub 17 May: If you work exclusively digitally, could you work by hand? I *could,* but *would* I? Doubtful. Look. I don't think linearly. Getting ideas arranged in ways other people can follow is nearly seamless with a word processor. Doing it by hand takes massive additional amounts of time, effort, paper, and ink. Rewriting pages and pages of material pasted together with arrows & stars just to get a draft steals all the joy from putting dreams into words.

  The cat is past the worst of his illness, the extra-work week for this month is done, and everything around the house is back to normal after the month's assorted smol crises. And I haven't fallen too far behind on creative maintenance while all the disruption was going on. <deep breath> So I may have enough time, organization, AND focus to make proper story progress this week. Here's hoping I didn't just curse myself.

  Hi, technology freedom hivemind. Way back when, I downloaded my kindle library, so I was able to save my azw3 & mobi files where Amazon can't disappear them, but... I didn't have the spoons at the time to deal with convert them to epubs, and I have no idea how to convert them now. If they can be. Can anyone point me at a NON-techie step-by-step? I have Calibre (pre-AI edition) , but I cannot make any of the plugins work for me. I guess can just keep reading in the ap...

It's technically true, but I always *also* have another half-dozen or more projects in various stages of done-ness that I am ignoring as hard as I can.
