  • Mine is Divide and Conquer by Epica, and I would defs recommend it. It’s not their best song I think, but it’s still good and it’s off my favorite album of theirs.

My phone’s detection app says Close to You by Dayglow. I’m on a plane waiting to takeoff. The song is fine, I guess.

As The World Begins To Wane - Absent Moon - Chuck Salamone Its like ballad or opera rock or something and it tells the story of what happens to the characters of Hylics after Hylics 2. I’d only recommend it if you played the Hylics series.

ADDERALL by maezi666 . It’s good but you have to like the nightcore adjacent music.

“Prisoner’s Awakening,” from the Dead Cells soundtrack, which frequently comes up on my workday playlist. Definitely recommended, that game has an amazing soundtrack. Instrumental, varying from orchestra and acoustic guitar to sometimes electric guitar and synth (or, synth-like?) tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzK3z8MLSpA

“Taxi to Baltimore Dub” by Scientist. It has an interesting genealogy: Randy Newman’s song “Baltimore” was done as a reggae cover by Nina Simone, then covered again by an actual reggae band called The Tamlins, which then got remixed/dubbed by Scientist. If you listen to Newman’s and then Scientist’s, they’re effectively unrecognizable in relation other than lyrical snippets. I absolutely recommend it.

Memphis LK - Some Kinda Heaven. Pretty solid song if you like the Y2K Electronic/Hopecore type of sound. Fun fact: she is actually the daughter of Paul Kelly, who made legendary songs such as Dumb Things and To Her Door.

Sleep Token - Gethsemane   Sleep Token - Infinite Baths Read this right at the end of Gethsemane, so I have two. I recommend both, especially Infinite Baths; and the rest of the album at that.

Far Horizons - Skyrim Soundtrack. And yes, it’s simultaneously chill and makes me want to go stand on top of a mountain and gaze into the distance moodily. I have a collection of video game soundtracks that I keep running at a quiet volume pretty much 24-7 for my cats because they have separation anxiety and I’m gone a lot. Skyrim, Oblivion, all 3 Witcher games, Stardew Valley, Terraria, Baldurs Gate 3, a couple of the Assassins Creed games, and a couple others are in there. Currently I have over 1000 songs in my main playlist that I run, but I have way more soundtracks that I don’t have in that playlist.

There’s multiple fans loudly humming next to me from various machines. One is constant, one is surging, and there’s a few others ij the background. Add to this the vibration of the engine being tested and you have a truly symphonic experience. No. lol

Barry Mann - Who put the bomp? because somebody referenced it in the !tenforward@lemmy.world thread about James R. Kirk’s middle name. Kinda fun as far as ‘50s pop goes, I guess. Edit: Now I’m about to go listen to “video killed the radio star” because I double-checked the tenforward link was correct and found a thread referencing that in there too. Why is it unusually musical tonight? Edit 2: it is now the next morning, and “Who Put The Bomp?” remains stuck in my head. Send help.
