  • Where would one find common ish 90s vhs streams/torrents?

I keep holding onto my vhs collection because in my ADHD mind , I won’t be able to find these random titles I have. I know they’re out there and were relatively popular in the 90s, but its hard to find like a “group” of this type of movie. Any ideas ? I’m not good at just searching by title. I need somethibg like "generic weird 90s vhs movies "

    Wait I looove t9 bro

  • Should we be using cash for all non online purchases ?

Thought of this more recently. The amount of control tech has over credit or debit cards is dangerous. Not to mention a power outage leaves you with nothing. Or if someday companies decide you can’t use their credit card certain ways. Its kind of unfeasible today, but maybe we should be using cash for every possible thing…

Exactly. If it only “seems smart on topics I don’t know shit about” thats a massive red flag. I’ll keep thinking for myself while the masses get dumber.

Also, it helps to take a break from technology if this worries you. Read a book. Do some woodworking. Llms arent going to plant a garden, build houses, fix a leaky faucet, install a new outlet, mount and balance tires, paint a house, dig a hole. It never will. It may be able to give you an inaccurate guide that allows less intelligent to electrocute themselves or poison themselves though.

Nah. I was at first then realized its a HUGEEE marketing hype train with billions behind it and that is why it proliferated. If it didnt have that no one would give a fuck. It doesn’t do anything we havent had tools to do for 20 years. It made some things a little easier for dumb people. Read up some Ed Ziteron to clear your head. They (the altmans of the world) want you to think this way and give up so you stop learning, atrophy your brain, and pay a knowledge subscription to use their inaccu...

Every one one of my friends and family use it daily. And a huuuuuge sell is marketplace. Literally no one touches Craigslist anymore. So if you wanna buy used from people, you literally need marketplace.

  • I feel similar to how people in 1899 must have felt, its just gone on too long

Imagine living in 1899. The 1900s are just around the corner, nothing feels the same. I feel like its a similar feeling now. 2027 isnt a real year. It feels wrong that humanity is in this year. But, I felt this way even when it was 2014 too. Maybe the Mayans were right and the simulation ended in 2012, and we are just the lasting ghosts of a system long unplugged?

  • Unplugged phone?

Co worker just got one of these. Looks pretty neat! I didnt find anyone on Lemmy talking about it yet. Thoughts ? unplugged.com Guessing its owned by some shithead we shouldnt trust, as things like this usually go. Edit: yep, war criminal Erik Prince owner. Well, do not support this!

Oh duh, I see. Yeah, america is no different than China in military and surveillance. The citizens are just dumber (many WANT surveillance fascism). Dont move there.

  • Vpn ban

I give vpns maybe another 2 years before they’re banned, for sure in the US but I’m sure elsewhere too. What do we do then?

  • Ublock no longer blocks youtube ads today

The fools at YouTube have been hard at work circumventing adblock to make our lives miserable so they can make 3 more cents per view. Hopefully ublock catches up. Fuck these people.

I never argued against collectivism. People who dont vote are idiots. Ive read the files. Its abhorrent , and it fucking pisses me off, but there’s nothing one can do about it. Family members are complicit and dont want to get up in arms about anything. You’d need a revolution of thousands marching armed to politicians houses for anything to change. And that’s not going to happen because we dont want to all die or go to prison yet , until food shortages come.

Wow much anger. I’m on the same side as you man, no need for hostility. I never voted for this government and I give as little as possible to billionaire corporations when ever possible. I was merely comparing city folk with those of us who prefer rural there’s nothing wrong with either.

  • How much proof is there that smart tvs and phones listen to you?

Like, we all know they’re listening , but can we provide proof? My friend was complaining about all the new super surveillance that will be government required in cars after 2027, and I said to him dude you have a stock android, you use every AI slop feature, you use a smart TV on your unsecured network, and uses x every day. They have everything they could possibly need on him. Oh and he posts questionable things to fb daily under his real name.
