Remember that time in 2018 when @GIMP got a $100K donation from a Web3 startup through GNOME Foundation? I wonder how much of their Web3 tech got into GIMP, because of course that's how sponsorship works 😆
Anthropic is not a great company, some of their practices are outright vomit-inducing (remember the burning of books?). But there have been other corporate sponsors, and Blender hasn't succumbed to their will yet. I wonder why. Could there be *gasp* a policy against that?

@prokoudine@mastodon.social @GIMP@floss.social I did not go over blender's list of sponsors, but I can't imagine many of them would actively be destroying the livelihoods of artists as a byproduct of their business model while at the same time exploiting those same artists' works. In short: yes, I know how sponsorships work. I still don't have to like it.
