@drewtowler @britt That makes sense :) I myself am blind, and am with somebody who is very good about letting me be who I need to be and even curious about the way I experience certain things, which has lifted a burden off my shoulders very similar to the one you describe, which is what prompted the question. Thanks for responding! :)

@zersiax @drewtowler I’m glad OP was able to reply. I’ll drop my 0.02 cents briefly: For me, it’s about being perceived. You are not perceived by anyone in solitude. It doesn’t matter who is with you or their intentions. Also, even if the other person has the best of intentions, even having to be told that or being aware of it (usually by verbal reassurance) is too much. (Apologies for the typos, I’m dyslexic)
