I beg you, pay attention to what @gerrymcgovern@mastodon.green is saying here. (FYI, the slave labor in question is being forced from the Uyghurs--remember them?)
The point is NOT that we need to keep using fossil fuels; the point is that we need to significantly reduce our energy consumption, regardless of source.
(Do NOT have something in your profile about how antifascist you are and then come say that slave labor and environmental degradation are a worthy trade off for cheap panels)

@gerrymcgovern@mastodon.green And FTR, China really does lead with solar panels and other green tech--yet it's consumption of coal is off the charts. If we're lucky, the number will stop *growing* by 2030. More renewable energy /= fewer fossil fuels. Less fossil fuel = less fossil fuel, period.

@dnkboston@apobangpo.space @gerrymcgovern@mastodon.green I completely agree with this! Reducing your energy consumption is a priority. It’s become almost ridiculous how much energy the average household uses. A bit warm, air conditioning on. A bit cold, heating on. Using appliances all day long. Just today I saw someone heating up a sandwich at lunchtime…
