@matthiasott@mastodon.social Yes... :blobcatfingerguns: But v3.5.3 isn't so nice regarding the title... so let's see, how it will look in 4.0... maybe like in 3.5.2 again...

@jorgecandeias@mastodon.social 2022-10-30 16:52
@matthiasott@mastodon.social That's cool to know, but that's not the feed I'd be interested in.

@PaulWeinheimer@mastodon.social 2022-10-30 19:01
@matthiasott@mastodon.social I have one dumb question: what exactly is the function of RSS.. what can I do with it?
-
@doug@c.im 2022-10-30 19:04
@matthiasott@mastodon.social Playing with this now, thanks. Seems your RSS feed is pretty much instantly updated on my reader, but for some reason the toot is delayed on my mastodon client.

@matthiasott@mastodon.social hawt
-
@atarifrosch@todon.eu 2022-10-30 19:59
@matthiasott@mastodon.social TIL! Very cool. Means I could „relay“ my own posts onto my website as a „last toots“ function. 🙂

@juha@mastodon.nz 2022-10-30 20:01
@matthiasott@mastodon.social I did not. That's a useful feature.

@rj@mastodon.me.uk 2022-10-31 12:09
@matthiasott@mastodon.social I'd LOVE it if I could have RSS feeds in my timeline (basically doing the opposite of this). Unless there is a way I don't know about
-
@wtfpdf@mastodon.social 2022-10-31 14:11
@matthiasott@mastodon.social Sadly, *.pdf does not work as expected...yet... 😆 🤣 🤣 🤣
-
@finestructure@mastodon.social 2022-10-31 15:16
@matthiasott@mastodon.social That might just be a the best way to get a synced timeline until clients support it!

-
@mrencyclopedia@mastodon.cloud 2022-10-31 21:27
@matthiasott@mastodon.social I wish this worked the other way around: put an RSS feed into Mastodon and follow it like it was a user and see its updates on your feed.
-
@a@mastodon.nz 2022-11-01 12:00
@matthiasott@mastodon.social Note that it does not include replies or boosts. For those, you can use RSS-Bridge: https://ieji.de/@austin/108515347807952409

@TaggartRehnn@writing.exchange 2022-11-01 13:46
@matthiasott@mastodon.social So, if you are on @writing. exchange you write @ writing. exchange @ [name] . rss or @ mastodon.social @ [name]. rss (no spaces, that I know) to create an RSS feed? Sorry if the question is dumb. Newbie here. Many thanks in advance. Taggart
-
@yourhelmsman@mastodon.social 2022-11-06 13:36
@matthiasott@mastodon.social You can do it (create #rssfeed feeds) with tags too! https://mastodon.social/tags/BoatsThatToot.rss

@iamdavidobrien@mastodon.social 2022-11-11 22:04
@matthiasott@mastodon.social That’s really useful to know. RSS is such an underrated medium. Mostly, I think, because it’s “old”. Old it may be, but still incredibly useful.
-
@GrannyDeanna@toot.community 2022-11-11 22:39
@matthiasott@mastodon.social Thank you for your information I am new here and still learning 😊
-
@litherland@typo.social 2022-11-12 00:14
@matthiasott@mastodon.social Yes! I’m thinking that might be a way I can get around the limitation of only being able to add people I follow to lists. On birdsite I’m accustomed to having topical lists (e.g., COVID, climate) full of subject-matter experts. I wouldn’t necessarily follow all of them on a day-to-day basis.

@troypatterson@scholar.social 2022-11-12 01:20
@matthiasott@mastodon.social Big fan of RSS. I use it every day. I really wish that more people were in tune with it.

@xises@mastodon.social 2022-11-12 02:59
@matthiasott@mastodon.social Yes, I've been using it since I joined at the end of April. I just went through the feed in Feedly (as you do) and was interested to note the changes in the title formatting as mentioned by @nick@norden.social
-
@jamesbicycle@mastodon.online 2022-11-12 03:31
@matthiasott@mastodon.social It doesn't capture any posts for me. No errors in feed reader.

@matthiasott@mastodon.social @BillSeitz@mastodon.social I highly recommend NetNewsWire for reading feeds on iDevices https://netnewswire.com/
