@candide I once had a kind of solar-powered Raspberry Pi (almost 10 years ago, though) but never hosted Navidrome on it. The RaspPi and its touch screen were powered by a (professional grade) power bank which was able to power the devices while being charged by a solar panel. Without sun, it provided power for about 10 hours at the most. Do I still count?

@Hierarchy @candide The devices did not run 24/7, I turned them off e.g. at night and didn't use them every day. The main goal was to use them in outdoor locations without power supply at all. The solar panel was a XTPower SP36 (not sold anymore, but mine still works great) and I only used the round plug (not the USB) for charging. Not sure about cost efficiency, sorry - I didn't track how much energy it collected/provided in any way. It just worked well enough for me.

@Hierarchy @candide I wanted to build a small & portable "steampunk style" computer for e.g. demonstrating stuff or playing some music on events. I already had the Raspberry Pi and a touch screen but not an unused phone, so that was the main reason for this solution. Creating the case for Raspi, touch screen and power bank as well as making all the things work together was a fun project! I just found the remains of old case. It is a bit broken and lost some of its decorations, but maybe the photos give you at least an idea about what it once looked like (sorry for not providing alt texts) :)

@candide how is the combination important? if you can solar power a raspi and run navidrom on one, you just do both of those and get the combination, no?

@candide Navidrome does run well on a raspberry pi, as long as you have the storage for your music (you would need a separate drive if your music doesn't fit on the SD card)
