Free #blog post idea for the #privacy and #cybersec people out there:
You Are Insignificant. That's a Good Thing (Privacy edition)
• Using email aliases makes emails look suspicious, but no one looks at them with suspicion
• Video surveillance is happening en masse, so you are not being watched
• No one listens to your conversations, because it’s too costly and chaotic
• Web advertising can be tricked/incapacitated automatically

@aartaka The "I'm not interesting" argument is a form of defeatism, and like all defeatism, it is emotionally appealing. It is simple, and it gives weary people a way to feel sophisticated. However satisfying it may be, however, it's not true: mass surveillance includes the "insignificant;" it is practical, and it is being done, now. The Snowden scandals showed us UPSTREAM/MUSCULAR/PRISM etc. over 13 years ago. Imagine today, with this US administration. #privacy
