The "I'm not interesting" argument is a form of defeatism, and like all defeatism, it is emotionally appealing. It is simple, and it gives weary people a way to feel sophisticated.
However satisfying it may be, however, it's not true: mass surveillance includes the "insignificant;" it is practical, and it is being done, now.
The Snowden scandals showed us UPSTREAM/MUSCULAR/PRISM etc. over 13 years ago. Imagine today, with this US administration. #privacy
