@iFixit@mastodon.social I mean, I'm all for people repairing their own stuff and openness of information, but do you really think it's a good idea to explain how to work on your home electrics to average people? Plumbing, climate control and home electrics are the most dangerous things to mess with in the home and in my professional opinion, best left to someone with a dedicated education.

@iFixit@mastodon.social Almost every house/apartment I am at has loose plug outlet wiring. Definitely worth getting fixed as it can prevent property damage and improve safety... Not sure if I would recommend tightening wiring to others not seasoned in electrical safety and mechanical skills, but this is what I do at my job with far higher voltages too.

@iFixit@mastodon.social Here is how to locate your breaker panel. It is an elegant but effective single-shot arrangement: one induced trip, then a manual breaker reset before the exercise can be repeated.
