@marsidesino I think 99% of fonts will be open source soon. The OFL basically won already. Prices fall to the marginal cost of production.
Proprietary fonts are already unaffordable and unusable by most people. I have never paid for one.
But NFT’s can also change the value proposition of digital goods from a scarcity based on limiting information access to one based on provable provenance, they have no need to rely on gatekeeping access to NFT content to secure value.

@elih, the question is who develops open-source fonts? It's often a wealthy minority controlling the options. That’s not the future I hope for. Fortunately, there are still many independent, knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced entrepreneurs who design typefaces and develop fonts, and there is value in that. I insist, many fonts are affordable to a wide audience. Using free fonts and not paying for one is a personal choice, influenced by the value you place on each option.
